Why do I do it?I just want to help as many people as I can with technology - I love this stuff

The PC Guy is my part-time gig that has become a booming success for this computer/network technical GEEK. My full-time gig makes me unavailable form 7:30 to 4:00 PM Monday to Friday. My available hours of operation as the Infamous PG Guy run anywhere from 5:30 PM to around 10:00 PM on weekdays and pretty much all day on the weekends. For those of you who ask, I have no plans on leaving my full-time gig anytime soon.

I have a variety of regular business customers, including a number of physicians, and many residential clients. Any of these clients would gladly provide a reference if necessary. I also sell hardware and full computer systems.

I plan to bring in a few of my work colleagues to help build a strong team very soon. We already have agreements in place that have allowed us to take on larger upgrade projects during downtime for most businesses  - the WEEKEND.

Current and Past Gigs:

The Moncton Hospital - FacilicorpNB - Information Services
I am currently a full-time Support Analyst with the South-East Regional Health Authority or you may know it as the Moncton Hospital. In this role, I troubleshoot different problems everyday. I can't imagine a job that would provide the high level of experience, with the variety of software, hardware, and network troubleshooting that I see each and everyday.

My current duties involve software repackaging for distribution to over 1700 computers. I am using the following tools to complete these tasks:

Wise Package Studio 7
Batch and Script files
Altiris Software Distribution Solution (for software distribution)

Nerds On-Site
I worked with Nerds On-Site Inc. in Montreal, PQ for 2 years starting in 2000. Yes... I was a Nerd. I was even caught and Gagged by Just for Laughs Gags (Click the link to see the video) back in 2002. During this time I had the opportunity to work with many different business and residential clients.

Contracts with ARC - I started my career by doing a number of contracts with a company called ARC (They hire independent contractors for outsourced jobs). I did an upgrade for all the Maritime Pay for Less Shoe stores in early 2000. I also did a last minute office expansion project in New York, NY the week after 9-11 for an insurance company. This company needed to get back to business the week after the tragic attacks.

Current & Past Experience

The Moncton Hospital - South-East Regional Health Authority - Information Systems

I work there as a Support Analyst which allows me to work with some of the most current technology. I currently specialize in Blackberrys, Trios (by PALM) and devices of that sort. I also work with a large variety of hardware and software that allows me to gain a lot of experience.

Southampton Computers – On-Site Support Technician

At Southampton I was an On-Site technician which means that I traveled around to a lot of different business and helped them out with their problems or new hardware implementation. By doing this sort of work and traveling around to business I think I have seen just about every setup out there.

Softec - On-Site Support Technician

Softec is where I got my start, My boss was also my instructor @ ABC where I took my IT training. I was able to work as backup support for a couple of large business in Moncton which allowed me exposure to some pretty cool stuff right off the bat.

I’ve always been interested in technology for as long as I can remember and with computers from the day my dad brought home from work a Compaq Portable desktop (early 1980s). I soon had my first home computer, a Commodore Vic 20. After going to a computer camp in Brantford Ontario the summer of 1987, I got my first 8088 PC for Christmas that year and I was totally hooked ever since.

I have been doing computer work for family, friends and their friends for many years. I have also been working full-time at the Moncton Hospital in the IT department for almost 14 years, so my hours with the PC Guy are from 4:30pm to 10pm weekdays and anytime on weekends.

Current and Past Experience:

The Moncton Hospital - South-East Regional Health Authority - Information Systems

I’ve work there as a Support Analyst for the past 13 years and counting, supporting various PC and Servers running Windows 98, 2000, XP, Vista, Server 2000 and 2003. I’m also experiences with PDA devices such as the Palm Treo and the HP iPaq.
